Hey, I’m Shakoya! A recent graduate of Johnson C. Smith University and incoming graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I’ll be joining you in this Hustle journey for a while. I am originally from Fort Lauderdale, FL but Charlotte has become my second home. I love the “upcoming city” vibes and the opportunity it holds.
Graduating during a global pandemic has given me quite some time to think about how I want to take the next steps in my career. I love all things communications. From the creativity, the dynamics, and the variety of ways to apply this field to others. My hope is to land a career in public relations and eventually become a politician (remember this name lol).
Through our time together in the coming weeks, I want to give you a glimpse into the multiple facets of career readiness. Let’s explore fashion, best practices, mental health/stress management, and whatever else comes about. Remember, I just graduated and am on the hunt for a full-time offer as well, so we are truly in this together.
